Back to the Future: My Trip to Korea

Hey, my name is Sarah and I´m Junior PR Manager at InnoGames. In the following blog entry, I will tell you a little bit about my one-week trip to Korea. Have fun reading!

Since last week, I´ve felt a bit like a time traveler. No, I am not starring in the latest Robert Zemeckis movie; I just returned from a trip to Busan, Korea. Right now, I´m still about eight hours ahead of German time, because in Korea it´s currently around 10 pm. Well, what can I say? It was definitely a culture shock, but in a positive way! In the following lines, I will talk about very spicy food, hot booth babes and crazy taxi drivers – oh and of course about our work over there. Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – The Creation of Sean

Unique Games need unique heroes to represent them. In order for players to get emotionally attached to a game, they need a familiar face, somebody who stands for all that is special about it, gameplay-wise as well as in terms of style and setting. The character that was originally supposed to be our representative of Bounty Hounds Online was a pretty straightforward one: Soldier-type, a very plain face and rather dull armor. We quickly realized that he would be unsuitable to bring the inimitable qualities of BHO across to the players – The exotic setting and the gritty, dark atmosphere. Read further

Talent Day Media + IT 2011

This week, about 40 students between the age 15 and 18 visited us for “Talent Day Media + IT”. The annual event is organized by the city of Hamburg to support young people in their future job planning: during one day, several companies in Hamburg open their gates and give insights into the various job fields in the media and IT industry. Developers were tasked with creating an entire original game within the time allotted, and in the end, a winner was chosen for the best game. Three attendees of the Jam recorded their experiences to share with you here. Read further

GamesCom & the GDC 2011

GamesCom is the world´s largest trade fair and event highlight for interactive games and entertainment, which annually takes place in Cologne, Germany. This year, 275,000 visitors and 557 exhibitors experienced GamesCom – the event was quite crowded, especially in the entertainment area. One day the hosts even had to close the gates due to security reasons. For us, it was really exciting to see this huge amount of people literally running into the halls yelling after the exhibition opened its gates at 10am. Read further

Bounty Hounds Online: Finally, Open Beta is here - Join the Ranks!

Tomorrow, we finally made it. For some of us, it’s been one month without playing Bounty Hounds Online, but those who didn’t have luck obtaining a beta key could not enjoy the game altogether up to this point. With the start of the Open Beta, there will be no more waiting: everyone who wants to play the game can do so! We at InnoGames are excited as hell to finally explore the world of BHO with all of you. During the last few weeks, we tried to shorten the time between betas by giving out as much information as possible. Read further

End of Closed Beta - see you soon, BHO!

The Closed Beta of Bounty Hounds Online has come to an end. And even though Open Beta will start on August 2, with so many new players and all the updates that were considered beneficial by us, the beta testers, I cannot help but feel a little sentimental… Read further

Goin´ Rogue - My life as a "secret" Agent

Lately I’ve been living a double life. As you may have noticed, my two colleagues and I have found a perfect balance while playing Bounty Hounds Online as a squad. My Shock Trooper draws the attention of our enemies and faces them head on, while Dennis provides the Firepower with his Heavy Gunner from afar. Sarahs Engineer, our key to success, effortlessly shifts between damage dealing, buffs, distraction and healing. Read further

A trip to Sunshine City

„Take me down to the Sunshine City, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty…“ Although Guns ´n Roses are singing about another city, the song is stuck in my head when our team, consisting of Fabio, Dennis and me, enters Sunshine City, the largest commercial metropolis on Clear Sky. After finishing Nome Gellin (the humanoid can opener, see last blog entry ;) ), Fabio had the great idea to make a trip to the planet´s capital, which is also an important transport hub. A Fickle Truce – The Engineer steps in the Spotlight!

Lately, I had some kind of a personal feud with my colleague Dennis. But since our opponents in Bounty Hounds Online become tougher and more numerous as we proceed, it is time to form an alliance. Being habitual people, we decide to stick to our favourite classes – Shock Trooper and Heavy Gunner – but restart as members of the same fraction: Umbra, the only PMC that does not care about our vile and thuggish past as mortal enemies. To spice things up a little, I finally decide to play a female character – and I am lucky! Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – The Heavy Gunner joins the rank

During the last weeks, my colleague Fabio – he is just sitting atthe other side of the desk right now – told you a lot about the start of Bounty Hounds Online. And let me get one thing clear right from the start: Although he has made an epic fail by choosing Aurora as his fraction, he is kinda ok, all in all. Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – Reboot: Closed Beta!

The Closed Beta is finally here – and luckily, the Bounty Hounds Online-team liked my blog posts so far, thus I am allowed to participate. I had already prepared a multi-volume story arc about the conflicts with my colleague Dennis, including a real-world dispute followed by a heartrending reconciliation and cooperative questing, my first impressions on Sunshine City, new pets, bossfights, etc – but all of this is meaningless now! It’s time for a reboot and all eyes on the Closed Beta. Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – Boss Fight!

Even though I am a few meters away, I quickly pin Michael down with a light-guided charger, one of my high-speed special moves. Tim, Bernhard and I join forces and finish him off easily. A little cheap, I know, but incredibly fun nonetheless :) ! Luckily for us, PvP can be switched on and off at any time, because Michael and his loyal squad quickly regroup and take terrible revenge on Team Aurora. Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – Player versus Player!

My character has reached Level 8 and my attack bar starts to slowly fill with an impressive arsenal of moves. Finally I am allowed to leave the safety of our PMC headquarter and enter the Wastelands, accompanied by a farewell gift from Commander Wolfe: My first pet, a robot dinosaur with rocket launchers attached! I name him “Godzilla”! Tremble with fear, my foes, for the mighty Trainee and his loyal pet Godzilla will soon be upon thee! Read further

Bounty Hounds Online – I joined the ranks!

Many fans are already very excited for the upcoming closed beta of our spectacular Sci-Fi MMORPG Bounty Hounds Online – We at InnoGames have the privilege of playing an internal beta of the game that started with our office LAN-Party a few weeks ago. It was a really fun event with beer and pizza. There were four tables, each for one of the game’s fractions, the four Private Military Companies (PMCs). I decided to take a seat at the Aurora table. With that decision, I sealed my fate for the following weeks, which are dominated by office-wide questing and PvP-battles… Read further
